One user has already achieved a new world record for DDR5 memory overclocking. Every week it gets crazier and breaking world memory speed records has never been faster.
This time, the user who achieved the new highest speed was the German overclocker “CENS”, who took the crown (per hour). To do so, he used a configuration composed of the processor Intel Core Ultra 9 285K installed on ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 APEX motherboard and G.Skill Trident Z5 24GB DDR5 memory module.

Most previous world records were achieved using the GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard (available for R$6,605.91 on Amazon), but the Z890 APEX (available for R$4,538.60 on Amazon) is not far behind. The motherboard helped CENS reach an impressive 6661.4 MHz (or 13,322.8 MT/s).
This is an increase of almost 100 MHz on the previous speed of 6,576.8 MHz that we reported. Therefore, the difference between the second and third highest speed of DDR5, as seen in the HWBot ranking, is even greater.

Memory frequency was also validated in CPU-Z, confirming that there was no change in latency compared to previous world records. So we have the same CL68-127-127-127-2, but with a higher memory speed.
Along with the news of the record, a photo of its setup was shared, which utilizes liquid nitrogen cooling for both the CPU and memory.
With this speed to new records, some expect a result of 13,500 MT/s very soon, and it does not seem impossible to reach 14,000 MT/s in the near future. Motherboards are getting better, and so are memory modules.
Furthermore, considering that there will soon be faster Intel Core Ultra Refresh CPUs with a better memory controller, and also newer SK Hynix memory chips, reaching 14,000 MT/s shouldn’t be that difficult.
With the recent increase in memory, however, the challenge for some users will be to obtain a new module for themselves. Furthermore, it’s not just the memories that users have been pushing to the limit, with an overclocker using a portable freezer to push an RTX 5050 to 3.5 GHz.
