Qualcomm has started working on Android support for its X-series chips, which means Android computers are on the horizon with the Snapdragon X and X2. Recently, the company entered the computer chip market with both models, with the X2 being introduced in September.
And, for now, the prospect is that they will be present on Windows notebooks from the spring of 2026.
Considering that Google and Qualcomm have partnered to bring Android to PCs, this makes sense. Highlighting that there were rumors of this as early as 2015, but only now are they being confirmed.

Rumors
The image released by the user of X, formerly Twitter, @Jukanlosreve shows what the Android 16 private code list for Snapdragon X would be. And Qualcomm has reportedly already uploaded the Android code for the Snapdragon X Elite and X series to the repository.
According to the information, Qualcomm’s next WoA processor, in addition to the high-performance version, would have a version similar to the Snapdragon X. And the codename would be mahua (麻花, twisted donut).
However, for now, it is important to treat them as rumors, as there is no confirmation. And this also means that the exact specifications are unknown.
Interface standardization
It will be interesting to see what a standardized version of Android for PCs will look like. While Qualcomm has had some success with its Snapdragon X chips in Windows devices, Putting Android on notebooks definitely has the potential to be a significant game changer.
One of the central questions is whether Google will get it right in terms of interface and user experience. After all, it shouldn’t be complicated for Qualcomm to add this support, so it’s experience with the software (not so much the hardware) that will define the success of the project.
Microsoft and Apple, not to mention Linux distributions, have years of head start in this regard. And it’s not just about companies having a better interface, but users are used to them. It won’t be easy competition for the search giant.
