Ayaneo shows a new look at the Next 2, its laptop with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Strix Halo

Ayaneo revealed in July that it was working on a new laptop equipped with AMD Strix Halo. The Next 2 will come equipped with a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and was shown for the first time with a look that looked like a mix of a Steam Deck and ROG Xbox Ally. Now, however, the company reveals a completely redesigned design for the handheld.

The Ayaneo Next 2 will compete with two other Strix Halo notebooks that came out before it, the GPD Win 5 and the OneXFly Apex. The laptop’s ergonomics could be a way to differentiate itself, but Ayaneo’s new look shows that the Next 2 will be much more similar to its competitors than previously imagined.

The images also reveal that the Next 2 will have two color options, coming in black and white, which could already be an attraction compared to the competition – which so far only offers options in black.

Ayaneo highlights external features of Next 2

Ayaneo’s most recent disclosure is entirely focused on the Next 2’s design, so we have no news about its technical specifications. We only know that it comes with a Strix Halo Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and a built-in battery.

Moving to the outside, the analogs will feature TMR and the triggers offer two activation modes: linear detection with hall effect and quick activation. As we can see in the images, the Next 2 also comes with two round touch pads – which appeared square in the product’s previous design.

Programmable buttons are also included on the back and the Ayaneo logo on top of the handheld uses RGB LEDs with “dynamic effects”.

The company promises “extra large battery for long-lasting gaming” and a “top-of-the-line custom screen”. However, it does not offer details about these claims. We will still have to wait to discover a launch window and price range for the product.
