After losing a large part of the Chinese artificial intelligence market, NVIDIA hoped to make up for it by shipping the B30A GPU to the country. However, a decision by the United States government, which completely barred the shipment of Blackwell series devices to Chinawill disrupt CEO Jensen Huang’s plans.
In an interview with CBS News, President Donald Trump stated that he remains determined to prevent the rival country from having access to advanced technologies developed by American companies. He specifically talks about the Blackwell series, stating that he did not grant any authorization for it to be exported.

Trump’s statements must be a serious blow to NVIDIA, which continues to try to return to the Chinese market to expand its sources of revenue. However, in addition to the restrictions of the United States, This is being hampered by China’s own resistance to its chips — who are accused of bringing with them surveillance and tracking elements considered illegal.
NVIDIA’s most advanced chips will be restricted to the USA
During the interview, Trump stated that, in his view, only North American consumers and companies should have access to NVIDIA’s most advanced chips. “We don’t give the chips [Blackwell] for other people”, said the politician in an interview recorded for the program 60 Minutes.
The statements show that the president of the United States, in addition to imposing new restrictions on China, can block the sending of hardware to other countries. The artificial intelligence sector is considered vital from a strategic point of view for the country, which has supported several companies seeking to create artificial general intelligence (AGI).

Investments in the area, which have NVIDIA as a central element, are already responsible for most of the country’s domestic product growth. According to Jason Furman, an economist at Harvard University, investments in the area corresponded to 95% of the growth recorded in the first half of 2025.
Even for this reason, many fear that the much anticipated “bubble burst” could lead the North American country into a major recession. While the Chinese market remains closed to large corporations, it has already made an agreement to ship more than 260,000 GPUs with Blackwell technology to its partners in South Korea.
