Kingston this week announced a new large capacity option for its Fury Renegade G5 line of PCIe 5.0 SSDs. The manufacturer’s high-performance NVMe drives arrived with variants of up to 4TB of storage, but now the company has announced the availability of an 8TB option.
Like the 4TB variant, the new Fury Renegade G5 offers up to 14,800MB/s of sequential read, with writing reaching 14,000MB/s. It’s not quite the 14.9GB/s of the fastest drives currently available, but not every user will notice the difference at such high levels of data transfer.
The new version with more storage also maintains the random performance of the 4TB model, reaching up to 2.2 million IOPS in both reading and writing in this case.
“Whether for work or play, users need more power and space,” said Keith Schimmenti of Kingston. “We are happy that this 8TB addition to the Kingston Fury Renegade G5 SSDs can serve high-performance users and hardware enthusiasts.”
The company claims that the drive is recommended for video editing, 3D rendering and, obviously, gaming on PC.

The new Fury Renegade G5 capacity option is now available on Kingston’s Brazilian website as well. The product costs R$12,964.90, and the company offers a 30-day delivery period.

Generally buying directly from the manufacturer is not the cheapest option, but the drive with the most storage is not yet listed in partner stores at the time of this publication. The 1TB and 4TB versions appear at Pichau on sale, costing R$1,400 and R$4,200, respectively.
Kingston offers a five-year warranty for this line of products, with “free technical support” for the period.
