DDR5 memories reach 13,153MT/s and break new world record

Overclockers continue to push the limits of what is possible with DDR5 memory and now, just days after the most recent component speed record, we already have the 13,000MT/s mark being surpassed. The Canadian saltycroissant entered the HWBot for a new world record of 13,153MT/s.

This means that the overclocker managed to take his 24GB Corsair DDR5 module to 6,576.8MHz. It is worth remembering that this is the same component that had already reached 13,010MT/s a few weeks ago by the German Sergmann. In other words, it is to be expected that another breakthrough and another record will soon appear.

To obtain the very high data transfer rate, saltycroissant placed the component on a Gigabyte Z890 AORUS Tachyon Ice motherboard, accompanied by an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K. The processor had its P-Cores at 1,627.25MHz, with the E-cores operating at 1,627.25MHz. As expected, liquid nitrogen was used to cool the system.

Obviously, this type of configuration is made for the sole purpose of breaking records and is not practical for everyday use. It is even worth mentioning that the DDR5 memory timings were 68-127-127-127 CR2T.

DDR5 overclocking is increasingly popular

It’s interesting to note that the number achieved by saltycroissant is not immediately above Sergmann’s record, which we reported in mid-October.

The “barrier” of 13,000MT/s was first overcome in HWBot by bullshooter, with Sergmann soon after submitting 13,010MT/s. Afterwards, however, we had the number surpassed by Hicookie and CENS, with only now saltycroissant reaching the top.
