Lian Li announced this week its new RB series of semi-modular power supplies. While fully modular models are generally best suited for those concerned with internal cable organization, Lian Li’s new PSUs attempt to offer an alternative solution to help with internal build management.
The RB Series offers sources with a space on one side for cable passage, including velcro on that same side and on 2 others without channels to help organize cables. The velcros serve to help hold the cables next to the source, allowing you to use only the length actually necessary to the component they will power.
The new RB Series power supplies are compatible with the ATX 3.1 standard and offer a 12V-2×6 connector with a colored tip, to help users check whether they have correctly connected their GPUs and avoid accidents.
There are different capacity options, all equipped with the same 135mm fan with fluid dynamic bearing (FDB). The manufacturer estimates a noise level between 33.2dBA and 40.1dBA with the component in operation.

Lian Li bets on the cost-benefit segment with its new RB sources, which save not only on design, but also on its efficiency certificate – which is 80 Plus Bronze in all capacity options.
There are three variants, check their prices below:
- RB 550B: 550W por US$ 50
- RB 650B: 650W por US$ 60
- RB 750B: 750W por US$ 70
Interestingly, the 750W model includes an extra 12V-2×6 cable, offering two of these connectors for high-performance components. As you would expect, the three capability variants include common protections for current sources such as OPP, OVP, OCP, OTP, etc.
