Colorful is preparing a new special edition of its Borderlands 4-themed RTX 5070 Ti BattleAx. The title was released more than a month ago and certainly had its problems with gamer reception, so the moment for the debut of a GPU in its honor may be behind us. Still, Colorful is betting on the look of its new sign to promote itself.
The BattleAx line, according to VideoCardz, is aimed at products with a focus on cost-benefit, so we don’t expect exclusive features or an especially powerful overclock on the new RTX 5070 Ti. However, Colorful has not yet released details of its specifications, so we have nothing confirmed.
What appeared were official images of the product, showing its black housing with details in yellow and red that evoke Borderlands 4. On the backplate we see that the color pattern is inspired by the character Claptrap, which even appears on the back of the video card.
What will be the availability of the new Colorful RTX 5070 Ti BattleAx?
Borderlands 4, at the time of writing this post, has mixed reviews on Steam. Meanwhile, previous releases in the series remain “very positive” reviews. By luck or planning, Colorful opted for a look that can evoke any game in the series on its new RTX 5070 Ti BattleAx.
We don’t yet have a launch date for the product, so we don’t know what its suggested price will be and whether the card will be available outside of Asia at some point. The more time passes, the further we become from the arrival of Borderlands 4 and the initial promotion that every game has at its launch.
The strategy is reminiscent of ASRock, which only revealed a Monster Hunter Wilds-themed Radeon RX 9070 XT in September – seven months after the game’s launch.
