Amazon started selling the Echo Dot Max in the Brazilian market, with a suggested price of R$849. The new model combines the compact dimensions of the Dot line with a new sound architecture, which promises to deliver superior quality audio.
The Echo Dot Max is one of Amazon’s new devices, announced at the end of September. It has dimensions close to those of the fifth generation Echo Dot, about 1 cm larger in width and depth. The format has changed a little, with buttons and LEDs on the front.

To achieve greater sound power, Amazon had to change the construction of the equipment. Thus, the Echo Dot Max was designed from scratch with two speakers, something previously unheard of in the Dot line. Therefore, it has a high excursion woofer and a custom tweeter. The speaker module has also been integrated into the device’s structure, doubling the internal air space.
With these changes, Amazon promises three times more bass compared to the fifth generation Echo Dot, in addition to clear highs and fuller sound.
Echo Dot Max has new processor
In addition to the sound improvements, Amazon equipped the new Dot line box with the AZ3 chip, developed by the company itself.
According to the company, the component allowed a 50% improvement in the ability to detect Alexa’s activation word. The microphones now filter background noise better and can deliver more natural interactions with the assistant.
The Echo Dot Max also has Omnisense sensors. According to Amazon, they are important for Alexa+, an assistant with capabilities expanded by generative artificial intelligence.
For now, Alexa+ is not available in Brazil. In the United States, you must be a Prime subscriber to access the feature, paying US$14.99 per month, or subscribe to the service separately, at a price of US$19.99 per month.
