Soon, all Mercado Pago users will be able to activate the new Personal Assistant in the service application. It is an artificial intelligence engine that can perform more than 60 different functions based on typed or spoken instructions.
Through conversational interactions, the Mercado Pago customer can, for example, ask the Personal Assistant to pay a bill, make a transfer via Pix, deposit amounts in Piggy Banks or provide details of the account balance.
More than recognizing and executing the tasks ordered by the user, the Personal Assistant will have the mission of learning the user’s routine within the application to act as a personal financial advisor. With this, the AI will be able to suggest values for Piggy Banks or help the user to make recurring payments, among other more advanced actions.
This first version of the assistant focuses on convenience services and now that it begins to be made available to the entire Mercado Pago user base, it will quickly evolve into more sophisticated services, until it becomes the new ‘bank manager’ for each customer, improving the relationship and personalizing interactions and recommendations.

Availability of the Personal Assistant on Mercado Pago
Don’t be surprised if you open the Mercado Pago app now and don’t find the Personal Assistant. The resource is being released gradually. Mercado Livre did not give a deadline for the new feature to reach all users, but predicts that its entire customer base will be served by the AI mechanism in the coming months.
The company highlights that, among the Latin American countries where Mercado Pago is available, Brazil is the first to have the AI assistant. “Brazil is a strategic market in our operation and local customers are engaged in adopting innovative solutions”, adds André Chaves.
