Preliminary tests in Battlefield 6 open beta show considerable advantage of AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D compared to the Intel Core i9-14900k. This is what shows the comparative video of Testing Games, where we can see Ryzen up to 30% in front of the core while using less energy.
First of all, it is important to note that we do not have the ideal scenario to compare performance of different components in Battlefield 6. The open beta of the game does not offer a dedicated benchmark and the matches take place in random maps in different situations. In addition, the game is not yet finished, and we can still have optimizations and changes until its full version.
In any case, the Testing Games channel was to be able to record Battlefield 6 matches in very similar situations in its comparison, enough to get a good sense of how each CPU is left in the game, accompanied by a RTX 5090. In 1080p, with Ultra graphics, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is, on average, about 29% ahead of Core i9-14900k.

What draws attention in this comparative is that Lows 1% and 0.1% are also better for the AMD processor, resulting in a visibly better general fluidity as well. While delivering more performance, the CPU consumes up to 40% less energy.

The video shows its comparison with Battlefield 6 also running at 1440p and 4K, always with the Ultra settings.

As might be expected, as the game requires more of the GPU, the performance difference in the CPUS is decreasing, but the 9800x3D remains in front. With the game in 4K, however, the difference is only between 3% and 7%.

It is noteworthy that the energy consumption for the AMD processor follows much smaller. While Intel Core i9-14900k falls to a 150W and 160W track with Battlefield 6 in 4K, the 9800x3D remains between 100W and 110W in all situations.
