The next generation of GPUS Intel will not support the 16x MSAA. The statement comes from a representative of the company itself, who took advantage of another Update of the Driver Mesa to confirm that its XE3 architecture will abandon the unpopular method of anti -lawsing.

This does not mean, however, that MSAA is being left behind. The 2x, 4x and 8x formats will continue to work on Intel Xe3 -based graphs. It is just the heaviest 16x version that will no longer be officially supported.

“MSAA 16X is not supported by any way in certain variants of XE3, and is leaving the rest,” says Intel’s Kenneth Grafenke in the Update Post of the Driver Table. “Most salespeople choose not to bear it, and many apps offer more modern multi-tampling techniques today. Only 2/4/8x will be supported from now on.”

Videocardz points out that the 16x MSAA is really increasingly in disuse. Due to its strong impact on performance with little relative gains on the quality of the game, technology is no longer as used as TAA, by Exmele.

XE3 should favor Xess over the 16x MSAA

Graunke’s speech mentions “most modern multi -pill and upscaling techniques. Obviously he is referring to the popular current methods of Nvidia, FSR from AMD and Xess, from Intel itself.

The company has invested in supporting its Super Scale method in different games, and the strategy should be no different with the arrival of XE3 -based GPUs.

With official support extended to AMD and Nvidia signs, it is possible that more developers will be encouraged to support Xess in their games, which in turn should help in the interest in GPUS XE3, optimized for technology.
