The famous GPU-Z diagnostic software has received a very large update this week which, in addition to adding support to more GPUS models, also corrects an important vulnerability for user safety. The new version is 2.67 and is now available for free download.
It is recommended that app users update. Previous versions of GPU-Z were allowed to record in the physical memory of the machine, including the operating system kernel. Malfeitors with Admin access could use this failure to circumvent protection systems like Windows Defender and attack the user’s machine.

Devving to the need for access as Admin, it is no failure that can be easily explored, but its potential is dangerous. The update must correct the problem.
As might be expected, the GPU-Z update not only brings safety failures and bugs, but also supports more models of video cards. Among them, stands out the RTX 3050 with GPU ADA.
We are already with two generations away from the RTX 3000 series based on GPUS AMPERE, but last year we have rumored that a Revised 3050 RTX Ada Lovelace – used in the RTX 4000 series – could end up appearing. This board has not yet been launched, but GPU-Z is ready to detect it correctly.
