Hardware enthusiasts will soon have Strix Halo processors as an option to set up their own compact PCs. The Ryzen Ai Max series will not be more restricted to ready-made notebooks or mini PCs, now that the Chinese company Sixunited has offered a mini-itx motherboard solution with incorporated type processors.
The product is called STth1 and offers a MODT on desktop (MODT) platform. That is, it is not a modified version of an APU Strix Halo, but its normal version for notebooks, equipped on a motherboard ready for builds desktop.
And Sixunited seems to rely on the success of its new solution, because it has announced the new plates with all the processor options of the Strix Halo series. Interested parties can opt for models since the entrance – with Ryzen Ai Max 380 6 centers and 16 CUS – to the most advanced – the famous Ryzen Ai Max+ 395 with 16 centers and 40 costs.
The memory is also already welded on the plate, which offers LPDDR5X-8000 modules. The idea is to take advantage of the Strix Halo line optimization for this type of RAM. Up to 128GB of capacity will be available for interested parties to choose.
While STth1 is an interesting solution for its novelty, those seeking to build a built with great flexibility can be frustrated with the product. The plate offers two M.2 2280 ports at PCIE 4.0 interface for SSDs. However, there is no SATA connection to HDDs.
In addition, the plate also does not offer a dedicated GPU PCIE connection. Obviously, the great attraction of Strix Halo processors is precisely in the capacity of its integrated charts, but it would be interesting to have the option as we are talking about a plate for builds desktop.

The new plate also features a HDMI 2.1 connection, but the user will have to choose whether to prefer displayport, VGA or a port with for the second video output. Finally, we have several USB, Ethernet Gigabit and earphone door connections. Sixunited has not yet revealed the price of the plate.
