Colorful reveals Battle-Ax B850m-E Wifi V14, its new input AM5 plate

Colorful has introduced a motherboard option to its line with socket AM5 product line. The Battle-AX B850M-E WiFi V14 is an AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processor input micro-at-ATX plate and first appeared on the company’s page in China.

As we can see from the images, the plate offers two memory slots. They are compatible with DDR5, up to 48GB per slot, totaling 96GB maximum capacity. The new Colorful plate supports memory overclocking profiles, holding speeds up to 7,600mHz.

The images also make it clear that the Battle-AX B850m-e Wifi V14 counts two PCIE slots. The two connections use version 4.0 of the interface, one in shape X16 and the other in X4 format. PCIE 5.0 appears in one of the slots for SSDs M.2, the other uses PCIE 4.0 as well.

It is a simple board for compact builds, but – as the name suggests – still incorporates wireless connectivity. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, using Intel’s Ax200 chip. The cable connection is a Realtek RTL8111k 1GBE Controller.

The plate uses power connectors in its traditional positions, in the “front” part. We can see the 8 -pin connector for the processor, and the Specs point to a 7 + 2 phases design. The product segment usually does not turn to CPU overclocking.

In the I/O part we have two USB-A 2.0 ports and two USB-A 3.2 ports, accompanied by Displayport 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 outputs for video. You can also see the Ethernet connection and the Wi-Fi antenna ports. The presence of a PS/2, which should give a nostalgic scratch in the most veteran readers.

Colorful has not yet reported the price of its new micro-ATX plate and we currently don’t know if the company intends to sell the product outside China as well.
