Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070 XT SKU has been confirmed to have a single 16 -pin power connector instead of 8 -pin standard connectors.

AMD is taking advantage of the fact that most RX 9070 plates uses the oldest standard as a point of sale. The cable problem is something that has been especially cared for due to recent reports of overheated connectors in RTX 5090 boards.

It is also evident that some of AMD’s partners are tired of using a triple 8 -pin triple layout on their plates. And the competition is strong by more attractive and easy to install GPU designs.

Therefore, using a single connector, now common in any modern feeding source, is a good alternative. Especially when it comes to plates with power requirements around 300W.

Nitro+ design features a hidden connector under a magnetically attached rear plate. Users can easily direct the cable and bend it safely, resulting in a clean design with hidden cables. Great for those who care about cable management to improve ventilation.

Specifications

Sapphire has confirmed that the Nonx RX 9070 has a standard 245W Total Board Power (25W more than AMD specifications). While the RX 9070 XT Nitro+ has a 330W specification, which is 26w more than those of AMD.

The company will provide a 3x 8-pin power adapter cable for 12V-2 × 6 (H ++).

Both models come with 16 GB of DDR6 memory and the difference is in clock. Nitro+ AMD Radeon â„¢ RX 9070 XT GPU comes with 4096 Stream Processors, reaching Boost Clock up to 3060 MHz. Nitro+ AMD Radeon â„¢ RX 9070 GPU comes with 3584 Stream Processors, reaching Boost Clock up to 2700 MHz.

As the two plates use the RDNA 4 architecture, both should support FSR 4.
