Taking advantage of the official announcement of its Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, AMD also promoted the news of its FSR 4 upscaling technologies and Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 frame generation. There are several new slides, containing information that has been shared earlier and some news.
As revealed early in CES 2025, the FSR 4 technology of upscaling finally integrates to deliver more competitive results with other solutions, such as NVIDIA DLSS and INTEL XESS. The new generation was developed for RDNA 4 and is already compatible with neural rendering.
AMD also worked to expand the number of games compatible with its super resolution feature. This is why FSR 4 uses an API that facilitates direct upgrade to any game compatible with FSR 3.1. The Videocardz people have leaked before, and now AMD confirms that there will be 30 compatible FSR 4 games at the premiere of technology. Until the end of 2025, the company promises that the number will exceed 75:
The company promises FSR 4, along with frame generation, can deliver between 2.8 to 3.7 times more performance in Ratchet & Clark Rift Apart, for example.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 chega ao HYPR-RX
AMD’s Hypr-RX platform is a tool package that includes FSR, anti-log, Radeon Boost, etc. The idea is to make life easier for the user, who can improve their games performance with one click. Another highlight of the moment is the arrival of Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 for the set.
The new version of the feature promises:
- Improved image quality in frame generation, with reduced ghosting and better temporal screening
- Support for Radeon RX 6000, RX 7000 and RX 9070, as well as Ryzen Ai 300 processors
That is, while not everyone will be able to enjoy FSR 4 for now, the Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 reaches a lot more models of AMD products. The company released comparative technology performance charts on a Radeon RX 9070 XT:
