Chinese processor manufacturer Zhaoxin has announced that their CPUs now have support for the R1 model for DeepSeek AI. The company highlights support in all its components, but points out that Khaisheng KH-40000/32 can run the technology even without the aid of a GPU.
Zhaoxin works with household models and professional CPUS. Kaixian processors are focused on PC while Khaisheng act on servers and data centers.

According to the company, Kaixian KX-7000/8 is already able to run DeepSeek R1 7B, when accompanied by a Chinese GPU. Zhaoxin, however, did not say which video card would be this.
Tom’s hardware comments that it is probably the mysterious GPU that is much of the work in this scenario. The KX-7000/8 has already appeared exceeding an I5-7500 Intel Core in multi-core last year, but is considerably behind this seven-year processor in single core tests. Details are missing to know how it behaves specifically with DeepSeek AI.

Meanwhile, Zhaoxin says the Khaisheng KH-40000/32 is able to run the 70B model and the 671B model without aid of video cards. Apparently the 70B version works smoothly while the 671b gets a little more “at the edge”.
Although it does not offer details about its test scenarios, Zhaoxin ensures that all its processors now support DeepSeek R1, natively running the 1.5B, 7B, 14B, 32B, 70B and 671B models.

More than a hardware efficiency certificate, disclosure also serves to promote, once again, optimization of Deepseek AI. The company has made so much impact on the market by launching its R1 model not only by the Open Source format or the allegations of having invested so little in its investment, but mainly for the relative “lightness” of its technology.
