Even with the launch of the Ryzen 9000 line in 2024, AMD continues to invest in the Ryzen 5000g family. The company today discreetly presented six new processors based on Zen 3 Cezanne architecture, equipped with Radeon Vega Integrated Charts and compatible with AM4 socket.

The new models cover the Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 series, bringing options of up to eight cores and speeds of up to 4.6 GHz. The release demonstrates the longevity of AM4, allowing users with older motherboards to update their systems no need to change essential hardware.

Focus on cost-benefit and balanced specifications

Newly released processors include standard versions (65W TDP) and GE (35W TDP) variants, focused on more efficient energy consumption systems. Among the models revealed are:

  • Ryzen 7 5705G e 5705GE – 8 nuclei, 16 threads, 4.6 GHz boost and 8 -nuclei vega graphics at 2,000 MHz.
  • Ryzen 5 5605G e 5605GE – 6 nuclei, 12 threads, 4.4 GHz boost and 7 nuclei vega graphics at 1,900 MHz.
  • Ryzen 3 5305G e 5305GE – 4 nuclei, 8 threads, 4.2 GHz boost and 6 nuclei vega graphics at 1,700 mhz.

With only PCIe 3.0 support and DDR4 memory, these chips do not compete directly with the latest lines, but should have more affordable prices, targeting in the public that seeks an upgrade without major investments.

The longevity of the AM4 socket allows older Ryzen processors users to have access to modern hardware without changing the motherboard

A recurring strategy of AMD

This is not the first time AMD has released new processors based on older architectures. Recently, the company presented the Ryzen 5 7400F, 5600xt and 5600T, even after the arrival of the Ryzen 9000.

The movement may confuse less attentive consumers, which may assume that chips released this year bring state -of -the -art technology.

But despite the criticism of competitors like Intel, this practice can be excellent in terms of longer support to AM4, something well received by those who want economic updates without major changes in system configuration.
