To the surprise of Chinese gamers, AMD has just announced the RX 7650 GRE, a special GPU edition for the Chinese market. Originally, Gre meant “Great Rabbit Edition”, following the Chinese calendar. The first special edition was launched in 2023, starting with Radeon RX 7900 GRE and followed by the RX 6750 GRE model. The company is not launching a reference model for the market. Instead, Only personalized variants were released, with prices between 2,049 and 2,099 RMB, depending on the factory overclocking and the cooler’s design.
Several brands, including Sapphire, Asus, PowerColor and Vastarm, introduced their own versions. However, there is no sign of Gigabyte or MSI.
These plates have already been launched in China and you can buy them locally or import them at a higher price. However, except for those interested to make a collection, import is not an attractive idea, since The RX 7600 XT probably offers better specifications and a lower price.
AMD often launches special edition boards in specific regions, limiting the supply of newer models. For RDNA 3 cards, this means a smaller or none of the RX 7600 series in China, where the market received the special RX 6750 GRE series.
