Asus drew a lot of attention by launching a new astral series for its RTX 5090 and 5080, which includes a fourth FAN in its GPU cooling system. Gigabyte, however, did the same thing with its Aorus Master cards, but the dissemination of the signs did not show it immediately because the fourth fan is optional installation.
The scarcity of units from NVIDIA’s new RTX 50 series has made reviews for new models still appearing weeks after its initial release. Gigabyte’s Aorus Master RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 recently appeared in analysis, revealing the fourth optional fan.
Unfortunately the manufacturer has not planned a very discreet solution for those who want to use another fan in their GPU. The fan is supported outside, increasing the space that the plate occupies – and Aorus Master is no longer small. In addition, the accessory power cord does not even connect with the video card, needing to go straight to a motherboard header.
Many users, however, probably do not care about the design depending on the extra cooling offered by another fan.
Fan Fan in RTX 5090 and 5080 of Gigabyte does not make much difference
Glitched online staff took a specific test to see the difference that the fourth fan brings to the RTX 5080 Aorus Master Ice.
According to the site, with Fan installed, Gigabyte’s RTX 5080 rode the Benchmark Steel Nomad synthetic test staying at temperatures between 66ºC and 67ºC. Without the extra fan, in the default configuration, temperatures increased and were between 68ºC and 69º.

The tests were done for the specific RTX 5080, but we can speculate that there should be no considerably larger or lower difference in the RTX 5090 version.
