Zotac sells RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 directly by Discord to avoid scalpers

The action of scalpers on high hype electronics launches has become a reality seemingly inevitable in recent times, a situation aggravated by the very low stocks of RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. Therefore, Zotac has decided to act on its own and sell units of its plates directly to your more loyal fans.

Nvidia’s partner is resorting to Discord to draw some of her consumers, offering them the chance to buy a RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 from their gaming variant. Still, inventories are quite limited, with only 10 RTX 5080 units available when the raffles started.

The rules are very restrictive to ensure that “true gamers” will have a chance to buy one of the GPUS, according to Zotac. Only active and participatory members of Discord will be eligible, and the company promises to filter out spam messages and “low effort” from people just trying a vacancy.

Only an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 can be purchased by residence, which should help more people have a chance to get a GPU.

Zotac will “expose” who resells his RTX 5080 or 5090

Zotac went beyond its proposal to combat scalpers and declared zero tolerance to anyone who resells his plate acquired by Discord. The company said all the RTX 5080 and 5090 serial numbers sold on the channel will be monitored, and anyone reselling the GPU will enter a banned list and cannot participate in future draws.
