The news was found by TechPowerup people in their GPUS reviews. More specifically, Asus Rog Astral GeForce RTX 5090 and MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G SUPPRIM SOC and SUPPRIM SOC have the Thermal Pads.
The extra safety layer may seem redundant, especially when Nvidia has ensured that the 12V-2 × 6 connectors present in its RTX 50 series will not melt, even with the massive amounts of energy that RTX 5090 needs to work.
