AMD greatly expanded its line of Ryzen processors during CES 2025, but it still didn’t want to bring any news about its Threadripper series. The company’s huge CPUs, however, should eventually be announced, as they keep appearing in leaks. Now it was the turn of the 64- and 32-core SKUs to “show up”.

As has happened before with the 96- and 16-core Threadripper 9000, the new options were leaked on NBD, a database that brings together transport manifests. Unfortunately, no details are offered beyond the core count and confirmation that these products use the same socket as the last generation.

It is worth noting that Threadripper 9000 is not yet the official name. Since these processors are based on Zen 5, it is expected that they will follow the same nomenclature as the already available Ryzen 9000. The series is currently also known by its codename “Shimada Peak”.

Based on previous leaks, it appears that the Threadripper 9000 series will offer models with 16, 32, 64 and 96 cores, just like their predecessors from the “Storm Peak” generation, based on Zen 4. Interestingly, we first had the leak of the entry-level models and high-end, and now the intermediaries.

It’s not just in the core count that the “Shimada Peak” Threadripper comes close to its predecessors. Apparently, according to the manifest leaks, the processors will maintain the same 350W TDP as their previous generation as well.

With the same socket and the same TDP, it will be easy for many companies – and some home users – to just replace the processor to upgrade.

Another similarity is that AMD also seems to be in no rush to reveal its “Shimada Peak” generation. The Threadripper 7000 was revealed well after the Ryzen 7000, and the company seems to be following the same idea for the new generation as well.
