PS6 will have 3D V-Cache and Radeon returns to being high-end with UDNA, claims known “leaker”

A well-known “leaker” of correct information about AMD posted a veritable list of unofficial information on the ChipHell forum. The news includes details about the next generation of Radeon graphics cards based on UDNA, talks about Zen 6 cores and even brings the promise that the PS6 APU will use 3D V-Cache technology.

The user in question signs as zhangzhonghao. He says that the Zen 6 cores will be manufactured using the N3E process (3nm), and that the UDNA GPUs will be made using the same technology. He attests that high-performance Radeon models will return on this architecture, and that “his aunt said the same”, referring to Lisa Su, CEO of AMD.

It is worth remembering that UDNA is the next generation of AMD’s GPU architecture, changing its name because it will unify RDNA, aimed at games, and CDNA, aimed at professional use and AI acceleration.

Moving on to the PS6, we don’t have many details about its APU, other than information about the use of 3D V-Cache. zhangzhonghao speaks as if it is certain that the PS6’s processor will be X3D, while Microsoft has not yet decided on whether or not to use the technology.

With the success of its X3D processors, it’s no wonder that AMD wants to expand its bet on 3D V-Cache. That’s why zhangzhonghao’s post doesn’t just talk about using the technology on the PS6.

The “leaker” also points to the possibility of the new Halo generation having the feature in some models. He references the successors to the current Strix Halo, which were commercially launched as the Ryzen AI MAX.
