Intel announced its new coolers Laminar RH2 e RM2designed to accompany the series of processors Core Ultra 200. These thermal solutions were presented during CES 2025, focusing on non-K models, which have lower energy consumption.
The new coolers offer efficiency and design improvements over previous versions of the Laminar series.
O Laminar RH2 will be exclusive to the processor Core Ultra 9 285. It has a base with a copper column connected to aluminum fins for better heat dissipation, as well as lighting. ARGB integrated display and an illuminated Intel logo.
The cooler has dimensions of 103 x 103 mm, a height of 71 mm and weighs 450 grams. Its fan operates between 1000 and 3000 RPM, with variable control via PWM, generating a noise of 23 dBA at 1600 RPM when the CPU temperature is 40 °C.
The model is recommended for processors with TDP up to 65W and uses a fixing system with a back plate, providing greater stability.
On the other hand, the Laminar RM2 will be intended for line processors Core Ultra 5including models 225, 225F, 235, 265 and 265F. It is also compatible with some Core Ultra 7 processors. This cooler is more compact, measuring 100 x 100 mm, with a height of 47 mm and a weight of 340 grams.
Its base uses copper, but the fins remain in aluminum. The RM2’s fan operates between 600 and 3250 RPM, but has higher noise levels, reaching 30 dBA at 2400 RPM in similar conditions to the RH2. The RM2 adopts the standard push pin fastening system for the Intel socket.
The new models offer advances in relation to the LGA-1700 generation RH1 and RM1 coolers, which accompanied processors up to the 14th generation. The RH2 stands out for its noise reduction and better cooling efficiency, while the RM2 prioritizes a compact design for smaller systems.
Both coolers include a three-year warranty and are not available for separate purchase, being sold exclusively with compatible processors.
With these updates, Intel seeks to improve the thermal experience in its entry-level and mid-range products even with the fan that already comes in the box.
