One of the first notebooks with a mobile RTX 5050 to appear in a leak is the LG Gram Pro 16. The BullsLab Jay account posted images showing an advertisement for the notebook equipped with the new entry-level RTX 50, including the detail that this GPU model brings 8GB of GDDR6 memory.
The post caused some interesting confusion because LG will first launch this exact same notebook model, but equipped with an RTX 4050. Harukaze5719, another famous social media “leaker” questioned this fact, highlighting that the official page mentions the architecture Ada Lovelace (RTX 40) in the description.
BullsLab Jay explained that, in fact, the same model will come out with both GPUs. He says that NVIDIA delayed the launch of the RTX 5050, so LG revised the Gram Pro 16 with an RTX 4050. The author of the post does not guarantee that the cards are directly compatible (pin-to-pin), but says that the manufacturer left enough room to make the replacement once the RTX 50 model becomes available.
Another well-known insider from the world of hardware came to participate in the conversation. Huang514613 emphatically stated that the cards are not pin-to-pin compatible, and points out that it would be wasteful for LG to invest in a design for the RTX 4050 only to then swap it for the RTX 5050 in a few months, “unless they do that deliberately for different price ranges.”
It is important to remember that NVIDIA officially revealed its RTX 50 series of graphics cards, both in desktop and notebook models. However, the entry-level RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 options were not mentioned, so they are still considered “rumors” and unofficial.
In any case, they have been appearing in leaks for some time. In fact, in November 2024, we had information that the RTX 5050 for notebooks should coexist with the RTX 4050 this year. The previous generation version should be the true entry-level option for notebooks in 2025.

This rumor corroborates Huang514613’s statement. LG may end up choosing to offer two versions of the Gram 16 Pro, updating the notebook with the RTX 5050 when it comes out and keeping the version with the RTX 4050 to be cheaper.
