A NVIDIA surprised the world of technology by announcing this Monday (6), during the CES 2025its newest high-end graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5090. The new product represents a historic milestone for the company, setting new performance standards in the GPU market.
Equipped with the revolutionary Blackwell architecture, the GeForce RTX 5090 impresses with its 92 billion transistors and processing capacity of 3.352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS). The card promises up to twice the performance compared to its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 4090.
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, highlighted the importance of the launch during the presentation: “Blackwell, the engine of artificial intelligence, is here for PC gamers, developers and creators. It’s the most significant innovation in computer graphics since we introduced programmable shading 25 years ago.“

DLSS 4 and performance improvements
The new GPU features fifth-generation Tensor Cores and fourth-generation RT Cores, enabling significant advances in AI-based rendering. One of the highlights is DLSS 4, which uses Multi Frame Generation technology to increase performance by up to 8 times compared to traditional rendering.
DLSS 4 technology also brings the first real-time implementation of the transformer model architecture. The Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution models use twice as many parameters and four times as much computation, ensuring greater visual stability and reduced ghosting.
Another significant advancement is NVIDIA Reflex 2 with Frame Warp, which reduces system latency by up to 75%. The technology updates the rendered frame based on the last mouse click before it is sent to the monitor, offering a competitive advantage in multiplayer games.

Innovations in rendering and ray tracing
The RTX 5090 introduces RTX Neural Shaders, technology that incorporates small AI networks into programmable shaders. The feature enables cinematic-quality character rendering in real-time, including RTX Neural Faces for ultra-realistic faces and new technologies for hair and skin.
With RTX Mega Geometry, the card can process up to 100 times more triangles with Ray Tracing in the scene, providing an unprecedented leap in the realism of characters and environments. NVIDIA developed a demo called Zorah to showcase the full potential of these technologies.
Complete line for notebooks
In the notebook line, NVIDIA confirmed the launch of four models in the GeForce RTX 50 series: RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. The laptops equipped with the most powerful GPUs – RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti – will begin to be sold from March 2025. models with the RTX 5070 will hit the market in April.
Partners and manufacturers
Consumers will be able to find these GPUs in notebooks from the world’s leading manufacturers, including:
- Acer
- ASUS
- Dell
- GIGABYTE
- HP
- Lenovo
- MECHREVO
- MSI
- Razer
It is worth noting that all notebook models feature the new generation of NVIDIA Max-Q technology, which promises to extend battery life by up to 40% without compromising performance. This innovation allows notebooks to maintain thin and light designs even with high graphics processing power.
Unfortunately, NVIDIA has not yet released detailed technical specifications or suggested prices for the RTX 50 series cellular models.
