In recent weeks, rumors and leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2 have been gaining momentum. The most recent news came from a partial image of the dock of the new console, released by consultant Laura Kate Dale. The photo reveals technical information about voltage input and output, in addition to indicating that the system will be accompanied by a 60W charger.
The image shows details about the dock’s specifications, such as a 20V input and 15V output. In comparison, the dock on the current Nintendo Switch OLED model has both a 15V input and output.
This indicates that the Switch 2 will require greater power, possibly to support new features or even additional peripherals. A relevant point is that the chargers of previous models will probably not be compatible with the new consoleat least not in TV mode.
This change to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock is in line with previous rumors that the Switch 2 will use an NVIDIA-developed, Samsung-produced T239 chip based on the Ampere architecture.
Although the exact manufacturing process has not been confirmed, the chip is likely to use 8nm lithography, balancing performance and energy efficiency.
Nintendo hasn’t shown anything about the Switch 2 yet
In addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 dock, recent leaks have shown parts of the hardware, such as the motherboard, and even prototypes of the new Joy-Cons.
Despite the frequency of leaks, Nintendo has not yet officially commented on the Switch 2. With information accumulating, experts believe that an announcement could occur soon.
