According to the author of the publication, the switch was purchased in an online auction. However, the low price paid reflects the deplorable state of the equipment. The machine suffered severe damage during shipping due to inadequate packaging, resulting in an RTX 4090 with broken pins and an unusable motherboard with a destroyed PCIe connector. Additionally, the case arrived soaked, indicating storage issues during shipping.
The author reports that the PC “was new and had never been turned on,” but the damage made it impossible to boot. Despite this, the processor, RAM and other internal components are in good condition, allowing the buyer to recover the amount spent.
Chance of profit
Even with the damage to the GPU and motherboard, the purchase for 18 euros still proved to be advantageous. Components such as the Ryzen 9 7950X and RAM continue to work and can be resold individually. The buyer estimates that, by disassembling the PC and selling the parts separately, he will not only be able to recover the R$ 18 invested, but also multiply the value between 10 and 20 times.
