After months of its global launch, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE has already reached “end of life” (EOL) status, according to information that is not yet official. AMD partners in Europe reported to the Tweakers website that they are no longer receiving GPU units, and that their stocks are running out quickly.
One of the AIBs commented to the website that ASUS models can still be found, but that deliveries are “limited” even for the few cards still available. AMD was contacted for comment, but did not respond, so we still do not have official confirmation of the end of supply of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE.
“GRE” variants of AMD graphics cards started out as a special model celebrating the Year of the Rabbit in China last year. Hence the name, Golden Rabbit Edition. The Radeon RX 7900 GRE, for example, was successful by offering a slightly weaker version than the RX 7900 XT, at a better price.
Due to its popularity, the card gained an international launch earlier this year. We even had the chance to test one of these GPUs here at Adrenaline. However, it appears that AMD is in a hurry to suspend sales of the product.

Radeon RX 7900 GRE making room for RX 8000?
Although the RX 7900 GRE made its debut in 2023, the GPU was not available outside of China for even a year. The “end of life” coming so soon for the card, if confirmed, could be indicative of AMD wanting to make room for the launch of its next generation.
