Intel has confirmed that the Arc B580 is selling out across different sales channels, celebrating its success. The GPU, which marks the debut of the Battlemage generation, did very well in its initial reviews – including here on Adrenaline, and its popularity has translated into sales.
“Demand for Arc B580 graphics cards is high and many sellers have sold out of their initial inventory,” an Intel spokesperson told The Verge. “We expect weekly replenishment of Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition board inventory and are working with our partners to ensure a stable availability of choices in the market.”
Unfortunately, we still don’t have concrete sales figures to measure the success of GPUs in a more practical way. However, Steve Walton, from Hardware Unboxed, guarantees that this was not a “paper launch” for the new video cards. This means that Intel is not using the old trick of offering few units of a product just to be able to say that it sold out quickly.
Walton says he spoke to manufacturers, distributors and retailers, and was told that the supply of Arc B580 units was “pretty substantial.”
Arc B580 needs stock to keep price under control
Costing just US$249 and managing to compete against the RTX 4060 – which cost US$299 – the Arc B580 has proven to be a favorite option among buyers. However, as units run out, products begin to appear listed at increased prices, which reduces some of the sign’s appeal.
However, if Intel keeps its promise to keep supplies up to date and quickly replenish stocks, it is possible that the GPU price will not be too inflated. Now we have to wait and see if its “smaller sister”, the Arc B570, will experience the same success when it makes its debut in January.
