AMD revealed the names of two models of its next-generation graphics cards by “accident”. A recent update to ROCm mentions the Radeon RX 8600 and RX 8800, marking the first time the company has called the products by name. This indicates that the RDNA4 generation should make its debut with two products.
As shown in the image below, the RX 8600 and RX 8800 appear in ROCm lines of code, accompanied by the names of their GPUs. According to an explanation from VideoCardz, the RX 8600 will be driven by Navi 44 (GFX1200), while the RX 8800 will already use Navi 48 (GFX1201).
These should be the same components for the XT variants of the graphics cards. The ROCm update makes no mention of models, but the Radeon RX 8800 XT was mentioned by Seasonic on its font capacity calculation page.
AMD is expected to officially announce its new generation of graphics cards at CES 2025, so this type of leak is common when we are so close to the event.
AMD does not mention Radeon RX 8900 in ROCm update
It has already been mentioned more than once – including by AMD itself – that the RDNA4 generation should not feature video cards from the more high-end segment. Once again, the information is reiterated by the lack of an RX 8900 model in the ROCm update.

Interestingly, however, there is also no mention of a Radeon RX 8700 model in the update, but the folks at VideoCardz keep a possible RX 8700 XT in their speculation table for RDNA4. Based on previous leaks, obviously.
Staying out of the most high-end segment, AMD will not only compete with NVIDIA’s mid-range and entry-level cards, but also with Intel’s Battlemage generation. The new Arc made its debut this week, with two models as well.
