This week, XPG introduced the Hurricane Mag, its new series of case cooling fans. At first the components look like 120mm fans with RGB lights like any other, but they come with different features that draw attention.
The main highlight of the Hurricane Mag line is that the fans are reversible. With a simple button on the cable connection, the user changes the direction in which the fan rotates, reversing the air flow it moves. This makes it easier to test different flow configurations for assembling your build without having to swap fans around.
There is also an aesthetic motivation for the feature, as non-reversible fans are made to be mounted in specific directions, making it very noticeable when they are mounted in the “wrong” places.
In addition to the button to reverse the airflow, XPG’s new fans can connect to each other, with a magnetic surface to facilitate docking. This way, it is possible to connect up to six Hurricane Mag fans connected to each other, using a single cable.
XPG Hurricane Mag: fan specifications
As mentioned, XPG has only prepared 120mm versions for its fans at the moment. According to the manufacturer, they rotate between 300 and 2,000RPM, and the air pressure and noise change depending on the direction of rotation, as would be expected.
In the standard sense, the Hurricane Mag delivers up to 54.82CFM of airflow, with static pressure of up to 2.74mm-H2O. On the reverse, the numbers are 49.27CFM and 3.27mm-H2O, respectively. Noise is estimated at 23.36dBA in standard flow and 31.36dBA in reverse.

Adata, the company behind XPG, offers a two-year warranty for the products and revealed that they will be sold in units or packages with four fans. The manufacturer, however, has not yet announced its official prices, nor when they will hit the shelves.
