This week, TeamGroup presented the T-Force GA Pro, its latest SSD compatible with the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. The new drive promises up to 10,000MB/s reading speed, with up to 8,500MB/s writing speed. It will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacity options.
The T-Force GA Pro uses the same Innogrit IG5666 controller found in the GE Pro and GC Pro models of Gen 5 SSDs that TeamGroup previously announced. However, the newer drive promises slightly lower speeds than other models, which should make it a more affordable option. The manufacturer has not yet announced the official price of the product.
TeamGroup’s new NVMe 2.0 SSD features 4K LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check Code) data protection technology, and comes with SMART diagnostic software. In addition, its thin heatsink is coated in graphene, made to work with heatsinks of motherboards in order to optimize the cooling of the T-Force GA Pro.
Finally, the manufacturer emphasizes that the SSD is manufactured in a process without the use of halogen and lead, complying with RoHS environmental protection standards. The T-Force GA Pro has an estimated useful life of 600TBW and TeamGroup offers a 5-year warranty for the product.
TeamGroup expands its PCIe 5.0 SSD portfolio
With the launch of T-Force GA Pro, TeamGroup adds three variants of SSDs with the same controller, compatible with PCIe 5.0. As mentioned previously, the new drive arrives as the entry-level option, while the GE Pro reaches up to 14,000MB/s speed.
The capabilities profile is also interesting to pay attention to. Being a more affordable option, the GA Pro does not have a 4TB variant, like the GE Pro. The “outlier” point ends up being the GC Pro, which only has 2TB and 4TB options, ignoring the popular 1TB capacity.
But Gen 5 SSDs:
Regardless, TeamGroup fans looking for a new Gen 5 SSD are left with plenty of SKU options to choose from.
