Nintendo is already a company known for its strict and strict policy against any type of piracy involving its intellectual properties. Although sometimes the company’s actions seem exaggerated to many, at other times they prove that it is necessary to remain alert, as the company’s new case against the streamer EveryGameGuru proves.
It turns out that Nintendo is suing the streamer in question alleging that he streamed gameplay of pirated games before their official releases and provided viewers with links to ROMs and piracy tools. Check out more details.

Illegal broadcasts
According to Nintendo, EveryGameGuru has shared gameplay footage of at least 10 different titles ahead of their official release dates on at least 50 occasions since 2022.
Among the titles are popular games such as The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario RPG, Splatoon 3 and Mario Strikers: Battle League. Nintendo claims that he broadcast gameplay on platforms such as YouTube, Discord, Twitch, TikTok, Trovo, Kick, Facebook and others, generally with minimal comments, in an attempt to attract a large audience, but without attracting too much attention.
One of the games mentioned in the lawsuit, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, was broadcast by the streamer several times in October 2023, even though the official launch was only scheduled for November 7th. Nintendo also identified another case in which EveryGameGuru streamed Super Mario Jamboree gameplay before its official launch on October 17, 2023.
The company managed to remove the videos from platforms such as YouTube, but EveryGameGuru continued its broadcasts on other platforms, such as Loco, where it is even possible to see a QR code for CashApp, where viewers can support it financially. In response to account blocking, the streamer even sent emails to Nintendo revealing that he had “a thousand disposable channels” and that he “could do this all day”.
Links to piracy sites
In addition to the illegal streams, the lawsuit offers screenshots showing that EveryGameGuru directed viewers to piracy tools, including emulators such as Ryujinx, Yuzu, Suyu, and Sudachi, as well as websites to download Nintendo Switch ROMs and decryption keys.
In one of the posts, the streamer shared a step-by-step guide on how to play illegally downloaded ROMs, accompanying it with the comment: “Capitalism is a cancer. My channel is being deleted for sharing gameplay videos! This is your prize!”written in capital letters.
Nintendo seeks millionaire compensation
Nintendo is demanding compensation of US$150,000 for each copyright violation, which could end up in a million-dollar fine, as there were several broadcasts with several games involved. According to the website 404media, the sum could reach millions of dollars.
