ADATA announced today, November 6, that its CUDIMM DDR5 memory modules, under the XPG brand, received validation on Intel Z890 boards from four manufacturers. The memories are certified to reach speeds of 9,600MT/s on Gigabyte, ASUS, ASrock and MSI cards.

The disclosure comes just days after a controversial decision by Intel, which removed ADATA from its “first list” of DDR5 memory suppliers for Arrow Lake. This means that the manufacturer’s modules are no longer immediately validated for the platform, having to undergo specific requests from motherboard brands.

Without an official justification for this change in Intel’s policy, ADATA is rushing to certify the quality of its components. Thus, the company declared that “two or four” of its XPG CUDIMM DDR5 memory kits have received validation from “the four biggest motherboard brands”.

It is worth noting that, in the XMP 3.0 profile, they reach the promised 9,600MT/s, according to the captures.

Intel’s decision may have little impact on ADATA

Rumor has it that Intel decided to remove ADATA from its “first list” due to comments that a company representative made regarding the disclosure about CUDIMM. Therefore, if this is true, it would be a reprisal with the manufacturer’s credibility as a target.

In practice, the change should not have much impact on the offering of memories by the different ADATA brands. The company will simply go through an extra validation step and continue offering the products.
