Apple presented this Wednesday (30) the new MacBooks Pro M4, its line of high-performance laptops, which now have 14 and 16 inch options. The models arrive equipped with the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, the brand’s latest, with great emphasis on computational power and efficiency.
This announcement is the third of the week for Apple. On Monday, the company unveiled the 24-inch iMac with the M4 processor, followed by the Mac Mini with M4 and M4 Pro chip options on Tuesday. Now, with the MacBook Pro, Apple’s line of devices updated with the new SoC becomes even more complete and powerful.

Apple introduces the M4 Pro and M4 Max processors
MacBooks Pro M4
The new MacBooks Pro offer advanced hardware options, with versions ranging from 10- to 16-core CPUs and improved GPUs. For the first time, the 14-inch MacBook Pro has the option to equip the M4 Max processor, previously exclusive to larger versions. In addition, RAM memory has also been increased, now being 16 GB in all versions of the MacBook Pro M4.
Another highlight is compatibility with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new generative artificial intelligence, integrated into macOS Sequoia 15.1. This technology requires a significant amount of memory, at least 8 GB, to operate efficiently. Therefore, the RAM expansion in new machines aims to guarantee support for features such as assisted writing and the advanced Siri interface.
In addition, models with M4 Pro and M4 Max feature Thunderbolt 5 connectors, which allow support for displays of up to 6K on three screens with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, ideal for professionals who need high definition graphics performance.
Apple announced M4 Max and MacBook Air improvements
The new M4 Max chip, which arrived as a surprise in the lineup, is Apple’s most advanced SoC yet. With 16 CPU cores, 40 GPU cores and up to 128 GB of RAM, it promises to double the performance of the neural processing unit (NPU) compared to the M3 line. For complex tasks like graphics rendering, 8K video editing and simulations, the M4 Max is designed to respond with agility and energy efficiency.
Although it was not blessed with the M4 chip, the MacBook Air received an important update: the new 16 GB RAM base, ensuring that the model can run Apple Intelligence with satisfactory performance.
Prices and availability
Apple has not yet confirmed the exact date for the launch of the new MacBooks Pro in Brazil, but the prices have already been announced. The most affordable model, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip, 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU and 512 GB of storage, will be available from R$ 17,999.10 at sight.
On the other hand, the most complete and powerful model, the 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Max processor, 16 CPU cores, 40 GPU cores, 48 ​​GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, will cost R$ 44,999.10 at sight. Both models arrive in two color options, silver and black.
