A Lenovoa global technology powerhouse, has opened its new Research and Development Center (R&D) at the factory in Indaiatuba, in São Paulo. The new laboratory reinforces the company’s commitment to technological innovation and the development of advanced solutions in Brazil, consolidating the company’s presence in the Brazilian technology industry and digital transformation.
Innovation hub
The laboratory was designed to be an innovation hub, where cutting-edge solutions will be developed, focusing on artificial intelligence, automation and new approaches to the design of Lenovo products. Equipped with a cutting-edge infrastructure for hardware and software development, the space can accommodate up to 80 professionals. Currently, the team has around 79 employees, including Software Architects, Cybersecurity Specialists, Testing, Design, Development, Innovation and AI, in addition to the team responsible for managing Lenovo’s 41 Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) projects. in Brazil. Some of the software developed in the Brazilian laboratory is already present in more than 800 million Lenovo PCs around the world, serving the brand’s global base of active customers.

For the inauguration, a formal event was held at the factory in Indaiatuba, where executives Ricardo Bloj, president of Lenovo Brasil, Lissandra Shiramizu, Director of Operations, Hildebrando Lima, Director of Research and Development, and company employees were brought together. Also present were special guests from the State, Federal and City Governments of São Paulo. Among them, the Secretary of Science and Technology of the State of São Paulo, Vahan Agopyan; the Mayor of Indaiatuba, Nilson Gaspar; in addition to the representative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Guilherme Correa, General Coordinator of Digital Technologies, and the general director of the Federal Institute of São Paulo – Campos Salto, Edilson Bueno.
