AMD schedules event to launch the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in China

AMD China is sending invitations to specialized media to attend the Ryzen 7 9800X3D launch event. The company does not call the processor by name, but it is clear from the invitation – and the moment it appears – that it is the first CPU with 3D V-Cache from the Zen 5 generation of components.

The event was scheduled for October 23rd and 24th, indicating that we will not just have a presentation, but a space that can be visited in more than one day. Using machine translation, we can see that the invite calls the Ryzen 7 9800X3D “legendary” and “invincible”. Furthermore, the text confirms that AMD will offer machines with the processor to try at the event:

“AMD has been committed to empowering the gaming industry by offering consumers and gamers cutting-edge hardware and technology to achieve the hardcore experience that transcends the times (…) We will deeply explore AMD’s new support for gaming experiences and applications in other directions, through professional on-site demonstrations and true machine experiences.”

Will Ryzen 7 9800X3D “steal” attention from Intel?

It’s been a while since we’ve had leaks indicating the arrival of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D at the end of October. AMD reportedly accelerated its roadmap for the 3D V-Cache version of its processors to compensate for the lukewarm reception of its Ryzen 9000 line.

The date of the event scheduled in China does not seem arbitrary, as it will coincide with the arrival of the new Intel Core Ultra 200 series in stores. AMD seems to have plans to “steal” some of the attention from the competition with the new product.

As the leaks and rumors for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D so far seem to be confirmed, we can speculate that the product’s arrival date in stores may be correct as well. In other words, the first Zen 5 CPU with 3D V-Cache will probably hit shelves in the first week of November.
