According to data released by the consultancy company Canalysto sul-Korean Samsung and the North American Apple share the same percentage of share in the global smartphone market. Both appear with 18% share in the third quarter of 2024.
Compared to the performance of both between 2022 and 2023, the research reveals that Samsung lost traction, falling from 21% in the third quarter of 2023 to 18% in the third quarter of 2024. Apple recorded slight growth, going from 17% to 18%.
Apple’s growth is related to the positive outlook that the company presented in the third quarter of 2024, a situation that was also observed in the previous quarter. Apple dominated the list of best-selling devices in the second quarter, occupying the first, second and third positions with devices iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro Max e iPhone 15 Prorespectively, according to data from Counterpoint.
