Although Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled start, nowadays the game is gaining more and more fans, and one of its highlights is precisely the beautiful look of Night City and captivating characters. But what if everything got even more real?
This is exactly what the new DreamPunk 2.1 mod, from the NextGen Dreams team, imagines, which takes the game’s graphics to a completely new level, using cutting-edge technologies such as Path Tracing and DLSS 3.7.10. It was shown in a video, which shows Cyberpunk 2077 running at 8K resolution on the powerful GeForce RTX 4090. The result is an ultra-realistic visual experience, which leaves even the most demanding gamers impressed.

The magic behind DreamPunk 2.1
DreamPunk 2.1 is a mod that builds on Cyberpunk 2077’s already robust graphical capabilities, bringing a hyper-realistic visual transformation, especially with regards to lighting and shading. The mod modifies crucial aspects such as indirect lighting, light diffusion and LUT (Lookup Table) saturation, which ends up resulting in a much more immersive experience in Night City.
The changes are noticeable in every detail: from the imposing skyscrapers to the vehicles and vegetation. Each element of the environment is given new life with improved textures and visual effects that make the player feel like they are walking through a movie set. All this, running at 60 FPS, with incredible smoothness thanks to Frame Generation and advanced support for Ray Tracing.
Mod is not free and requires high-end hardware
Precisely because it is so realistic, one of the most striking aspects of DreamPunk 2.1 is that it requires high-performance hardware. To run the game at 8K with all graphics features activated, including Ray Tracing, you need nothing less than the GeForce RTX 4090, one of the most powerful GPUs on the market.
Together with DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and RT Overdrive, the combination unlocks the full potential of the mod, allowing Cyberpunk 2077 to reach a level of realism that impresses and leaves any fan of the game in stitches.
And, with the visual revolution comes the price. Literally. It turns out that DreamPunk 2.1 is not available for free. The mod is locked behind a payment system, meaning only players willing to financially support the creators will be able to enjoy this graphical improvement.
At least for those who can’t afford the investment or have cutting-edge hardware, what’s left is to enjoy videos like this and enjoy a return to Night City, even if it’s more distant, but with a different experience.
Ongoing updates from CD Projekt Red, like the Phantom Liberty expansion and Path Tracing support, continue to make Cyberpunk 2077 an ideal platform for innovative mods. This allows creators like NextGen Dreams to explore and push the boundaries of what is possible graphically, delivering a welcome visual experience.
