Acer has plans to bring its AMD graphics card models to Brazil, with the first arriving in 2025. The information was revealed by a company executive to TecMundo, who spoke of the manufacturer’s plans to bring the Predator Radeon line to the sides of here.
Although the brand’s representative speaks openly about bringing Acer’s AMD cards to Brazil, he still does not confirm the plan as definitive. Milton Júnior, product and notebook manager at Acer Brasil, explains that the company has been studying the possibility of making these launches since the beginning of 2024. There is, however, no defined plan yet.
The executive mentions that, if the plan goes ahead, Acer must bring “strategic volumes” of cards, to gauge consumer interest. “These models have the construction and construction characteristics of Predator together with the graphics cards (…) It is a new market for us and we need to test, develop, understand how the public adapts to it”.
In the foreign market, Acer works with AMD Radeon and Intel Arc cards, but the company’s executive commented on the possibility of bringing only Radeon to Brazil.
Acer ventures into new areas
Acer attracted attention when it decided to venture into the GPU market, even more so by choosing not to work with NVIDIA, which currently holds the largest share in the segment. But the company went ahead and ventured into even more areas this year.
In September, the manufacturer showed its first mini portable gaming PC, the Nitro Blaze. In addition, the company also debuted in the font area, with the Predator GX850. The company also showed a new version of its complete gaming PC, the Predator Orion 7000, using more parts of its own manufacture.
