A Meta confirmed this Wednesday (9) the launch of its artificial intelligence that operates in an integrated manner with WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Named after Meta AIgenerative AI has the ability to answer questions and even understand and interact with images, providing users with information about a landscape, for example. AI also has the ability to generate images.
Meta also cites other options for actions that AI can perform to exemplify how it can be inserted into users’ daily lives:
- Recommend restaurants to meet friends;
- Ideas for places to visit along the way on a trip;
- Generate a multiple choice test to prepare for a test;
- IA imagine the aesthetics to create a reference panel with generated images to inspire you when shopping for furniture for a new apartment.
Regarding the ability to generate images, Meta says that you can awaken your creativity. “You can create a fun, personalized invitation for your child’s birthday party or combine with your friends to create fun images. And it doesn’t stop there. Discovered an image you love? Ask Meta AI to animate it or tweak it with friends by asking Meta AI to change the prompt, states the company in an official note.
In addition to Brazil, Meta AI, developed from the database of Llama 3.2, it also reached five other countries: the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Bolivia, Guatemala and Paraguay. With this expansion, Meta AI is now available in 43 countries.
Is it already available? How to access?
The release is happening gradually, so it is possible that many users will still not be able to access the resource.
To use the service, simply tap a blue circle, located somewhere on the Meta platforms screen, or type @MetaAI” in a group chat. Furthermore, the tool is also available in a desktop version, via the “meta.ai” website.
Confusion regarding data training
The release of MetaAI in Brazil went through moments of tension between the company led by Mark Zuckerberg and National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). The association was against the use of data from Brazilians for AI training.
According to the authority, this privacy policy of the North American company is irregular from the point of view of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). This company’s AI training represents, for ANPD, “risks of serious harm that will be difficult to repair to users”.
At the end of August, the ANPD released the training, as Meta agreed to follow a Compliance Plan. Among the requirements, make it clear to notify the user via email and app with “clear and accessible” information about the use of personal data to train AI.
