Recently, Sony announced the launch of special editions of the PS5, PS5 Pro and the DualSense controller to celebrate 30 years of PlayStation. However, with the success of the campaign, the limited products were quickly sold out, which led one fan to recreate a unique model using a 3D printer.
The highlight of Sony’s new campaign was precisely to bring a retro aesthetic inspired by the iconic PlayStation 1, a console that marked the childhood and youth of many players. The commemorative edition offers a nostalgic experience for fans of the brand, and it was based on this that the user created his own control model.

Retro look and quick sale of limited editions
The special edition of the PS5 and DualSense features details that bring back the design of the PlayStation 1, with colors and finishes that recreate the classic appearance of the console launched in 1994.
But, as expected, demand for these editions was very high. Units sold out quickly, leaving many fans without the opportunity to purchase the commemorative devices.
Despite the frustration of some, one determined fan decided to create his own version of the special DualSense, using a 3D printer. The feat was publicized on Reddit, where the user shared images of his customized controller and surprised the community with the quality of his creation.

The fan in question went beyond the basic design and made a point of creating personalized details even for the connection cable, making the controller even more faithful to the look of the PlayStation 1. He recreated the PS5’s DualSense by purchasing separate buttons and using spray paint to paint the pieces, achieving a finish that impressed other players.
The 3D-printed replica, in addition to being a personal work of art, also appears to be available for purchase on an international website, with some limited units being sold for around R$98.26. The controller drew attention not only for its retro aesthetics, but also because it was very similar to what was officially sold by Sony in terms of appearance.
