ASUS revealed that its Intel Z890 motherboards will be officially announced on October 10, 2024, the same date that Intel itself will show its Intel Core Ultra 200 – Arrow Lake-S processors to the public.
Even though its announcement only mentions “next generation Intel motherboards” and features such as “ready for next generations of GPUs” and “ready for advanced artificial intelligence computing”, it is obvious that these are the new models that they continue to receive information only via insiders and leakers.
Intel Z890 motherboards will hit the market compatible for use in conjunction with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 desktop CPUs and will use the new LGA-1851 socket. One of the highlights is that they will also support Wi-Fi 7, as reinforced in the manufacturer’s announcement for the “reveal” of the mainboards.
From the image shared by ASUS on social media, we can expect around 8 Intel Z890 motherboards from its different series. Models for the ASUS Prime, ROG Strix and even ROG Maximus line can be identified – some of which even appeared on pre-sale sellers’ lists in some places.
Among those leaked through stores, the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme appears to be the “premium” model of their hardware – selling for $1,111.87. Versions such as the Maximus Z890 Hero and Maximus Z890 APex motherboard are also present, as well as Creator ProArt models.

Although we already have a lot of information about the launch and even the ASUS Intel Z890 motherboard models, their specifications and features have not been officially confirmed. In other words, some differences may exist between what was leaked and what will actually hit the market from October 24, 2024.
What is a consensus is its compatibility with Arrow Lake-S CPUs, such as the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel Core Ultra 7 265K/KF and Intel Core Ultra 5 245K/KF processors. More information should be presented on the 10th.
