In this post we will address the curious case of Shopee’s PC for sale to run GTA 6. Yes, the game doesn’t even have official specifications yet, nor a release date on the PC, but there are already people selling a computer ready to run Rockstar’s next bombastic game. .

The post itself has several eccentric things, but the most curious thing is to bring for a very cheap cost, starting at R$899, a configuration that in theory will be capable of running the next Grand Theft Auto.

The processor to run GTA 6 on the Shopee PC

It starts from a problem that has already been discussed here: cheap computers with unidentified Intel Core processors. Almost without exception, they are very old models of the Intel Core line, often products from the second to fourth generation, that is, with more than “10 years behind them”.

The PC on offer is a Core i5 which, after contacting the seller, was better identified as a third generation Core model (which is still not clearly saying what product it is, but it is already a better reference) . With a modest increase of R$47, it can become a fourth generation model. Even with this update, we are talking about a model with just four cores and four threads.

Placing it against today’s entry-level models gives a clear idea of the gap, both in performance per core and in the total performance of the processor. We use the Core i5-4570, as it is a very popular fourth generation Core i5 model, and at an affordable cost:

But the processor is not the only problem here. Shopee PC does not have a graphics card. In other words, it needs to run on the graphics integrated into the processor, which in the fourth generation Core means an Intel HD Graphics 4600.

The ad is frank in saying that it is not possible to play GTA 6 in the way the PC is today, but that it is already suitable for running GTA V. Looking at the performance of the integrated HD 4600 graphics, it seems that it will not be possible:

Here comes the distinction of what each person calls “rotating”. We have a habit of testing high-performance components and recommending high-quality experiences, but we also know that reality is harsh for many people. Everyone plays with what they can afford, and the desire to play is almost always greater than the wallet.

And playing… the truth is that you can play. The HD 4600 needs to run the game at the lowest quality and at 720p, and will deliver gameplay just above 30fps and with a lot of choking here or there, but considering how many people played the game on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, we are talking about a better experience than that of consoles. Yes, if your memory is no longer clear about this, see what GTA V is running on these consoles from 20 years ago:

The PC that will run GTA 6 (we think)

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released for current generation consoles in the second half of 2025. A PC version could take more than a year to come out, as was the case with Red Dead Redemption 2 (October 2018 in video games, November 2019 on PC ) and with GTA V itself (September 2013 in video games, April 2015 on PC).

So even considering that it will only be in 2026 that we will perhaps see GTA 6 on PC, you can have an idea of what it will take to run it. Two things can serve as a reference.

The first is the consoles themselves. A computer with close performance should run the game at an intermediate/high setting. A computer similar to the performance of a Playstation 5 is today an intermediate gaming machine.

Updating our original article from 2020, when we are looking to build a PC similar to the performance of the Sony console, you can play at a similar level with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RTX 4060/4060Ti, something that will cost between R$ 4 and 5 thousand.

But you can go even further than that. If we look at the minimum configurations that were requested for Red Dead Redemption 2, it was possible to play on very old parts even by 2019 standards, such as Intel Core i5-2500K and AMD FX-6300 processor, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB card video.

We even managed to run it on a PC that didn’t even have a video card, with the Crisis PC at the time, equipped with a Ryzen 3 3200G and nothing else, since it doesn’t even have a video card.

So an entry-level gaming computer should already be able to run GTA 6 at an acceptable level of quality and performance. In our PC recommendation articles, this means spending from a PC of R$3,000.

And will the Shopee PC run GTA 6?

But what about the Shopeede PC for R$899? Will she manage? I don’t completely doubt the ability of this machine, after receiving a graphics card, to be able to open the game and even run it.

We tested recent games with a profile similar to GTA (wide map, many NPCs) such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield, and the Core i5-4570 warrior went leaps and bounds close to 30fps when running. The fluidity is quite compromised, but oddly enough, it ran.

So I wouldn’t doubt that this PC, or any other with a fourth generation Core i5, would run the game. It will practically be an experiment with the limits of Rockstar’s graphics engine, the game will run at a stage about to crashar at any time. But, believe it if you want. I think it runs. Bad, but it runs.
