Aiming to attract more sellers to the platform, the OLX confirmed that it will no longer charge fees to those who sell products on the website. The company also made a comparison with competitors, stating that sales and resale platforms charge fees between 10% and 20% of the product’s value.
A OLX stops charging fees from those who sell, maintains free access for advertisers and, for buyers who carry out transactions within the platform, the fees related to the Guarantee OLX They range from 5% to 7% of the product purchased, depending on the category. The implementation of this new approach should triple the number of users of the OLX.
“The results of studies on the impact of reducing the fee for sellers to zero showed a lot of potential for growth: tripling users, this year. Our priority is to increase the number of sellers and guarantee better delivery and payment conditions for those who carry out transactions within the platform”said Regina Botter, CPO at OLX, in a note sent to Hardware.com.br.
In addition to the “zero fee” strategy, OLX also confirmed a new payment method on the website: NuPay. With this implementation, users can purchase without having to add card details, simply by entering their CPF. Purchases via NuPay can be made via debit, credit or interest-free installments. Furthermore, NuPay has the possibility of using an additional limit, so that users can purchase with more autonomy.
