A Microsoft announced some very interesting news for users of WhatsApp: Copilot integration, your artificial intelligence advanced messaging, directly in the popular messaging app.
This move marks a significant expansion in Copilot’s accessibility, allowing users to interact with AI in a more convenient way that is integrated into their daily digital lives. In the next paragraphs I give more details on how the new feature works.

How to use Copilot on WhatsApp?
O Copilot no WhatsApp works as a virtual contact, with which users can chat directly in the application. The features offered are similar to those available on other platforms where Copilot is already present, including the ability to answer questions, generate texts and create images.
To start using Copilot on WhatsApp, users must access the official Microsoft page and click the test button. This will redirect them to a WhatsApp conversation with the virtual assistant. Although the initial conversation suggestions are presented in English, users can ignore them and interact directly in Portuguese.
One of the most impressive features of Copilot on WhatsApp is its ability to generate images directly in the conversation, just like in applications and the web version of the tool. Additionally, the assistant can help with various text-related tasks, such as writing, proofreading, and organizing content.
However, it is important to note that there are some limitations. Copilot on WhatsApp has a limit of 30 prompts per daywhich may restrict usage to more intensive users. Additionally, a significant shortcoming is the inability to transcribe audio, a feature that some competitors, such as LuzIA (which uses models from OpenAI), offer.
WhatsApp already has its own AI, but not in Brazil
Microsoft faces stiff competition in this space. THE Metathe company that owns WhatsApp, already has its own AI, Meta AI, integrated into WhatsApp and Instagram in some markets. Although not yet available in Brazil, Meta AI offers features such as voice and text conversations, as well as image generation.
The launch of Copilot on WhatsApp is part of a series of recent announcements from Microsoft about its artificial intelligence. The company also revealed that Copilot will have voice capabilities and will be able to understand what is on the user’s screen, further expanding its capabilities.
This integration is part of Microsoft’s strategy to make its AI more accessible and useful in users’ daily lives. By bringing Copilot to one of the world’s most popular messaging platforms, the company hopes to significantly increase the user base of its AI and potentially compete more directly with other technology giants in the field of conversational artificial intelligence.
