After almost ten years of development and some unfulfilled launch predictions, Noctua has finally announced the debut of the new generation of its 140mm fans. The company is renowned for its cooling solutions, and promises that the NF-A14x25 G2 bring noticeable improvements compared to the previous generation.
The new fans for your PC come in two versions, a standard one and a low-noise one. In the standard version, they reach up to 1,500RPM, with the promise of pushing up to 155.6m³ of air per hour (91.58CFM), keeping noise at up to 24.8dBA. The LS model (low noise) rotates at 800RPM, reducing noise to 11.4dBA. On the other hand, air displacement drops to 81.6m³ per hour (48.03CFM).
To better understand the performance of the new fans, Noctua made some comparisons with the previous generation. According to the manufacturer, it is possible to obtain the same level of cooling as previous models with the NF-A14x25 G2 rotating 300RPM slower and, consequently, up to 11dBA quieter.
Furthermore, Noctua also states that, used on a radiator, its new fans can reduce the setup temperature by up to 3ºC – compared to the previous generation in the same configuration.
Price and availability of Noctua’s new 140mm fans
The Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 are finally available in several markets around the world, but unfortunately Brazil is not one of them. On Amazon in the USA you can find the product at its standard price: US$39.90. This is approximately R$217 at the current price.

It is interesting that the company also prepared packages with two fans considering side-by-side use or “push-pull” operation. In this case, the fans have a difference of plus or minus 25RPM in their speeds, which Noctua says helps prevent humming and other uncomfortable acoustic phenomena. The package costs US$76.90 (R$419).
